Decorated
Notepads
Materials needed:
Notepads (the rubber padded type notepads--not loose paper pads)
Cardstock in coordinating colors
Stamps and inks of your choice
Decorative Scissors
Adhesive of your choice
Embellishments (buttons, ribbons) if desired
Instructions:
1) Cut two pieces of cardstock (the same color) to be slightly larger than the
notepad. (I do mine about 1/8" larger.) These will be the cover pieces.
2) Attach one of the 2 cover pieces to the back of the pad. Set aside the other
piece for step 6.
3) Cut a contrasting color to bind the top edge. The length of this piece should
be the same as your cover piece. The width depends upon the size of your
notepad, to your liking. Fold the binding edge to fit the notepad, folding
firmly where needed. (Leave about 1" for the back, the thickness of the
notepad, and then another 1" for the top.)
4) Using a decorative scissors, cut one edge of the binding paper. This edge
will be on the top cover.
5) Attach the binding edge to the back cover. Fold the binding edge over the top
of the notepad. Crease the fold lines down firmly. If desired, you can attach
the binding edge to the rubber edge of the notepad, at the top. I use a thin
line of hot glue.
6) To add the top cover piece to the notepad, just lay the cover piece on top of
the pad. Attach the remaining binding edge to the cover piece.
7) Add stamped and completed images, and embellishments to the cover as desired.
8) Stamp individual pages in the notepad with small stamps to coordinate with
the cover theme.
