Violet Card Instructions

I learned how to do this card at a "Stampers Day" at a local craft store.  It was taught by a "Stampendous" representative.

This card uses the Stampendous tiny violet stamp AA048, I think it sells for less than $3.  If you don't have this stamp look through you stamps and find a tiny flower stamp.  It needs to be one where you can color on the stamp with markers.

Supplies:
» Violet stamp
» Decorative edged scissors
» Purple and green Marvy markers or other juicy water color markers
» Yellow colored pencil
» White or Ivory card stock 8½ x 5½ folded in half
» Ruler
» Pencil
» Eraser
» Gold pigment ink
» Gold embossing powder
» Heat gun or heat source
» Prisma ultra fine glitter (optional)
» Glue pen (optional)
» Message stamp (optional)
» Envelope to fit 41/2x51/2 inch card

Instructions:

1. Fold card so it is now 4½ x5½ inches

2. On the front edge of the card on the 5½" side measure in ½ inch.  Mark it and draw a line.

3. Open the card.  Cut along the back edge of your card along the 5½" edge with decorative edge scissors.  Now cut along the line on the front of your card.

4. Lightly draw a heart on the front of your card.

5. Ink your stamp with the purple and the green markers.   "Huff" (breathe hard) on it to moisten the ink then stamp one violet along the pencil line. (I start at the very top of the heart)  Then with out inking the stamp "Huff" on it again and stamp the violet again just below the first one.  Repeat this all the way around your heart.  You will have alternate dark and light violets all around the heart.

6. Now stamp your violets along the edge of your card between your decorative cut edges.  Alternate dark and light just like you did before.  This time turn your flowers so you have the flower going stem flower flower stem all along the side of the card.

7. If you wish you can stamp some extra violets cascading down from your heart to the lower right hand corner of your card.  Then stamp violets from the upper left hand side of your heart to the upper left hand side of your card.

8. Go around and color the middle of all the violets with a yellow colored pencil. (They used yellow markers at class but I found that they smeared to much and then you end up with purple on your yellow marker)

9. Rub a gold pigment ink pad along the cut edge of the front of the card.  Then sprinkle gold embossing powder on it.  Then heat until embossing powder is melted.

10. If you wish add a little glue with the glue pen to the center of some of your violets.  Then sprinkle with ultra fine glitter.

11. If you wish stamp a message such as Thinking of You in the middle of your heart with gold ink and emboss.

Now lets make an envelope to match.

Cut along the edge of the flap of your envelope with  decorative edge scissors.  Stamp the violets along the flap just like you did for your card.

Now your card is finished.  I hope you can understand my instructions.  If you have any questions E-mail me.
